A Modern Day Pirate’s Journey

The moment Ryan walked across the stage at East Carolina University, diploma in hand, he knew he was destined for the sea. The degree might have declared him a pirate in jest, but deep down, it was a prophecy. With no experience but a heart full of adventure, he bought his first sailboat—a vessel that would test him with every wave and storm. Through trial and error, he learned to harness the wind, read the tides, and embrace the chaos of the open sea.

His first boat was only the beginning. He moved to the Virgin Islands, a paradise where the horizon seemed endless. There, he bought a second boat and spent over two years exploring secret coves, dancing with the rhythm of the islands, and letting the ocean become his guide. But wanderlust whispered again. He sailed to Virginia, returned to real estate, and plotted his next great voyage.

In 2016, he found the perfect vessel—a catamaran that would carry him beyond the familiar. It took a year of sweat and salt to prepare, but when 2017 arrived, the sea called, and he answered. Thirteen countries, each with its own pulse, its own flavor, from the turquoise blues of the Bahamas to the vibrant coasts of Colombia. He sailed farther than he ever had before, and when the wind finally guided him back to Folly Beach, he knew he had found his new calling.

For six years, “Seas Life” became more than a business—it became an invitation. Guests stepped aboard his catamaran and felt, for a moment, that they too were pirates, explorers, free spirits of the sea. But Captain Ryan wasn’t done dreaming. He envisioned something even greater—a floating escape, a custom catamaran tiki boat that could bring the magic of the Caribbean to anyone, no matter where they were.

Built with island spirit and designed to share the joy he had gathered from every shore, the boat became a portal to the tropics, a place where laughter, music, and games told stories of adventures past. With every guest that stepped aboard, Ryan passed on the spirit of the sea—because once you’ve sailed beyond the horizon, you never truly return.

And so, the pirate continues his journey, not just as a captain of the seas, but as a captain of his dreams.
